I get your point. BUT It is ‘principled’ and not at all pragmatic. When I implement a wysiwyg editor I strip alot of stuff out but asking a client to markup text in markdown! We tried this years ago. Customers hate it. It feels like being forced to drive a Lada when you thought you were getting a BMW.

I took a quick look at perch a few months ago but this is the one issue that is the deal breaker for me. For the rest I think perch is a great product. Respect oke 🙂 But I think the customer should be given a choice on this. CKeditor imo is a highly configurable and produces good html.
