Last night, as I was putting the small person to bed, I couldn’t help but think of the Iraqi parents who were preparing for the worst … what do you tell your kids when you are expecting bombing to start?
I oppose this war, as do many people both in the Uk and USA and across the world, but I don’t want to rant about that here. What I want to do is remind everyone who is upset about the start of this war and is concerned for the ordinary Iraqi people, that there are a variety of aid agencies who are directly working in Iraq and who rely on donations to do their work.
I have spent some time on the Cafod web site, reading about their ongoing work in Iraq and their preparations to help in the event of war. Whether you see this war as right or wrong, the people of Iraq are going to need so much help during and after the conflict, so please think about donating to Cafod or one of the other Aid organisations if you can.
