mothers

Meg’s mother and mine must have been twins seperated at birth… this is not the first time that one of Meg’s stories about her family has rung several bells here. My mother is a dreadful hoader, even a move to the USA ten years ago and the ordeal of having to sort out all her mothers

a toad

This morning, walking along to the Small Person’s nursery I saw a bouncing stone. On closer inspection, the bouncing stone turned out to be a rather large toad. The Small Person was, of course, thrilled and the toad bounced around and did toad-like things. After a few minutes we left the toad to get on a toad

in the news…

“Dolls cry out against teen mums” – I’ve seen details of this scheme before and it seemed a bit odd then… Babies cry every few hours for feeding for only a few months at most, my daughter slept for 7 hours a night from 3 months, after the first few months the actual ‘childcare’ becomes in the news…

More pooters … must have more!

The pooter count increases. Drew’s new ickle imac “for testing.. no, its NOT a toy” has taken up residence on my dining table, my new machine is still awaiting its memory before it can be put together… and there is an Amstrad on its way (I found one on eBay – yay!) July

This year is flying by… Drew would put it down to a sign of my advancing years, I prefer to think its a sign of being way too busy. I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my new computer, or rather the components that will be my new computer. The Small Person is also eagerly July

Warning labels

Stupid warning labels from actual products. My favourite has to be “Warning! This is not underwear! Do not attempt to put in pants.” — On the packaging for a wristwatch

forgive me for my lack of updating

I’ve been busy. Really busy. Work work, freelance work, the book-writing-boyfriend, the small naughty person, something I can’t tell you just yet, and various geek activities are keeping me too busy to find interesting things to blog this week! There are so many things I want to do with this site also, for instance – forgive me for my lack of updating

Too busy being a geek to blog…

The PHP and MySQL install was eventually a success so I have something new to play with – hence my silence here! While battling with MySQL I came across Developer Shed which is fullof interesting and well written articles and tutorials on open source web development topics.
