I’m glad to be able to report very few instances of weird server behavior despite this site getting around 6 times as many visitors today as it is used to. I got drenched coming in to work this morning. The sky outside my window is steel grey. Everyone is in a bit of a strange mood.
I really do not understand why people using Netscape 4.7 are downloading my Go Away Old Browsers extension. Very strange. Do they want to throw themselves out of their own website? Odd… most odd.
My dreamweaver page has been linked to by Zeldman – so I’m feeling rather honoured and painfully aware of all this site’s shortcomings, and the fact that this server starts to do odd things when hit by high traffic… erk :/ I am feeling encouraged to work on some more extensions around the same theme … meep!
The weather this weekend has been fantastic. I love British weather, one minute you are going out in a hat and scarf, the next day you get sunburned despite wearing sunblock… total madness! Yesterday, the small person, Drew and myself went to ‘Carter’s Steam Fair’, which is much more fun than your average travelling fair … sunshine
Today I had the gratifying experience of discovering, in my server logs, someone with Netscape 4 arriving at my page via someone elses upgrade page!!! Being thoroughly evil, it then occured to me what fun it could be if those of us with upgrade pages a la The Web Standards Project linked to a few … an endless circle of upgrade pages
I looked at my logs today and noticed a large number of referers from a site called serbiancafe.com, being nosy I go and have a look. It appears to be an asp message board… I can recognise the words Copy Paste, IIS 5.0 and Visual Inter DEV .NET.. but I’d love to know why they … server logs fun
May the 2nd and it is still freezing cold… gah! I have noticed a couple of mac users with IE5 visit my site today – I’d love to know how the pages look on a mac – let me know. apparantly, today was World Phone in Sick Day.. and I never knew, you’d think that … when will it be summer?
